This project centred around the fabrication and installation of a large-scale hot rolled steel fireplace surround within a high-end architectural home overlooking Queenstown. The brief was to create a bold and understated feature that complemented the natural material palette and dramatic landscape beyond the glazing.

Using hot rolled steel allowed the cladding to retain the natural character and warmth of the material while giving the space a refined industrial feel. The scale of the fireplace wall required careful planning and detailing to ensure the panels aligned consistently and the fixing details remained clean and intentional throughout.

The finished result creates a striking focal point within the home, with the darkened steel tones contrasting beautifully against the timber interiors and alpine views.
